A Message from the Chair

Briercliffe Community Football Club established in 2019, a grain of sand idea between Anthony Hill and Louise Haines very quickly exploded into a driven community project involving many other people.

It saw our first team the Bears start their football journey and we are proud to say they are still flourishing and growing with the new season seeing them enter as under 9s. With enthusiasm and passionate coaches we helped transition Kicks 4 Cubs over to the club and become “Footy Cubs”.

We were happy when the Foxes joined our football family and, even though they are continuing in their next chapter with Rosegrove we wish them all the fun and success for the future.

As we all know March 2020 saw the global pandemic take hold and all our lives changed in some form or another. As a club, we have continued to support our teams and families at all times. Sadly though we have suffered and seen arson attempts on the facilities, vandalism and destruction of valuable equipment, theft, damage to pitches, loss of coaches and management, funding issues but at our core we have remained determined, passionate and strong in ensuring Briercliffe has a
football club.

In a little over a month, we see the new season 2021/2022 start and our Bears enter as U9s and our Lions start their football journey as U8s.

We have seen wonderful generosity from our new sponsor, Burnley based Barbell School, and the same from our new coaches and managers for the Bears and Lions.

As Chairwoman, and the committee as a whole, the work needed to keep our football club going does not stop and we need you Briercliffe and our wider grassroots family to help us.

We have children ready, eager and waiting to play under 6s, our Tigers and ages 3 to 5, Footy Cubs but we need coaches. If you are interested please do not hesitate to contact us on 07581624561 or email football@briercliffe.uk

You can also contact and follow us on social media, either Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BriercliffeCommunityFC, or visit us on Twitter at https://www.twitter.com/briercliffecfc

We thank you for all your continued support and understanding whilst we find our feet and re-establish.

Louise Haines
Chairwoman (BCFC)
